RECYCLE CONTACT LENSES
IN KLEINBURG VAUGHAN

Join us in keeping millions of lenses and blister packs out of landfills and waterways.

Every contact lens counts recycling program bausch and lomb

Don't toss out your used contact lenses and packets! Recycle them with us.

At Northern Sight Optometry, we’re proud to be a drop-off location for Canada’s first contact lens recycling program, the Bausch + Lomb Every Contact Counts.

This national recycling initiative, powered by Bausch + Lomb in partnership with TerraCycle, collects and recycles used contact lenses and their packaging—items that are too small for traditional recycling systems. Since launch, over 4.6 million lenses and blister packs have been diverted from Canadian landfills!

Instead of tossing your lenses in the trash, bring them to our clinic and drop them in our dedicated recycling bin. It’s a small habit that makes a big difference.

Can I recycle this? Let's break it down.

Know What to Toss and What Not To

You can bring in:

  • Used contact lenses of any brand

  • Top foil seals from blister packs

  • Opened, dried plastic blister packs

🛑 Please do not include:

  • Contact lens boxes (recycle these through your city’s blue bin)

  • Wet or solution-filled blister packs (dry them before dropping off)

Tip: Rinse and dry your blister packs at home for clean collection. No need to bag them—just drop them in!

Why recycling your contact lenses matter.

Most contact lenses are too small to be caught in regular municipal recycling systems. Instead, they get filtered out and sent straight to the landfill.

By recycling your lenses with us:

  • You help reduce plastic waste in our landfills and waterways

  • Your old lenses are upcycled into new products like benches, picnic tables, and playground equipment

  • You contribute to a more sustainable future for our community and our planet

Next time you're in for an eye exam, a contact lens refill, or just passing by—bring your used contacts and packaging and place them in our recycling bin. It's easy, it’s free, and it’s good for the Kleinburg Vaughan community.

Let’s keep lenses out of the landfill—together.
